Aaron was a lovely piece to kick the semester off with. A lot of the comments I got on this piece were about the way I painted it, but I enjoyed adding detail to the shell. I didn't want the paint to take away from the carving I had done to make the piece seem as realistic as possible.
I didn't struggle with the construction of the rattle, but I worried that I hadn't wrapped the beads in paper towel well enough. I decided to cut it open and make sure that the rattle could make noise after being fired. I wish that I had focbvhyused on the bottom of the turtle just as much as the top in terms of texture. Over alI I am in love with how this came out. It turned out even better than I had imagined for only being one of my first tries at using clay.
